var_log_messages

With my new i7 system on the GA-Z170X-Gaming 3 board regardless of the settings I encounter complete system freeze every time I start any application using graphics acceleration even simple glxgears. I have tried various kernel module parameters with the same result. Please take a look at it and let me know what other information You might need to fix it as I am unable to use my machine for tasks others than text edition or e-mails.

I attach several debug information, but if anything else is required please let me know

I found on the web that I should try following i915.enable_rc6=0 i915.semaphores=0
Indeed it does work without any freeze on startup of any DRI required application
Comment 5 Chris Wilson 2016-01-23 08:42:31 UTC
[ 2.214971] Setting dangerous option enable_rc6 - tainting kernel
[ 2.214973] Setting dangerous option enable_fbc - tainting kernel
[ 2.214974] Setting dangerous option semaphores - tainting kernel

Semaphores is a nop, so rc6.

Hi ryszardzonk@yahoo.com and Chris. Sorry about this long delay until getting on this. Do you still see that this is problem with the latest drm-tip? Or is i915.enable_rc6=0 i915.semaphores=0 consired as moving this resolved?
Comment 7 Jari Tahvanainen 2017-03-08 09:17:10 UTC
BTW - is this duplicate for Bug 94161? And if this is then assumable the latest comment on that is valid for this too...
Comment 8 Jari Tahvanainen 2017-04-10 11:33:10 UTC
Timeout - assuming resolved+fixed. If problem still persist with the latest kernels (preferable drm-tip from git://anongit.freedesktop.org/git/drm-tip), reopen this bug with latest data as attachment (see https://01.org/linuxgraphics/documentation/how-report-bugs).
