Without symbols I have no idea. Best guess is the recent dri2 snafu. You can try building http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/driver/xf86-video-intel/ and hopefully getting a usage stacktrace or simply confirm that it is fixed.
Ok, I've built a newer version fo the driver with debug symbols. Let's see if I can reproduce the problem.
It took a while, but this morning the crashes started occurring again. I'll attach my xorg.log which includes the backtrace. I'm currently on Xorg version 2:1.18.3-1ubuntu6 (from Ubuntu Yakkety) and Intel driver version 2:2.99.917+git20160522-1ubuntu1

riight. Nevermind, I was distracted by the references to the intel dri driver, I guess. Sorry about the noise...
