Description Artem S. Tashkinov 2016-01-31 22:35:25 UTC
It's actually a bug in i915 (because it manifests itself even when Xorg is _not_ running), so I'm not sure if this is the right bugzilla.

See the bug here: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=111661

Whenever I try to restart the Xorg server, the screen turns black and nothing can revive it.

As far as I can see it's a eDP connection.

Strangely the module and the kernel think they are just fine:

# cat /sys/class/drm/card0/error
no error state collected

Sorry Artem for this delay on getting back to you. Is this still valid problem? Or have you updated your kernel and not seeing this anymore?
