Description Frederic Parrenin 2016-02-29 15:32:15 UTC
I have an HP elitebook 840 G2 laptop (with a docking station) installed with debian 9.
Suspend was working fine with the stock intel video driver, both in the docking station or outside.
But I had this problem when connecting to an external monitor:
https://www.reddit.com/r/debian/comments/3m6uet/laptop_screen_brightness_is_set_to_minimum_when/
So I decided to update the drivers to 'testing' ones (v. 2.99.917), as explained here:
https://www.slightfuture.com/how-to/debian-newer-intel-graphics
Now, the first problem is solved, but I got a second one: when I am in the docking station, I cannot suspend the laptop anymore.

Can you provide a dmesg log captured after the failure (via ssh, serial or netconsole)?
Comment 2 Frederic Parrenin 2016-09-29 10:41:33 UTC
Sorry, but I reverted my driver back to the stable one (I was having too many issues with the backport or testing ones).
So I cannot reproduce this bug anymore.

Ok, sorry for neglecting the problem, closing this one for now.
