pdf file not rendered correctly

Summary:
The blue/black background on the attached pdf is not rendered correctly with pdftocairo.
Several white strokes are visible everywhere.

Steps to Reproduce:
1) pdftocairo -png 047838.pdf
2) eog 047838-1.png

Actual Results: 
047838-1.png contains many white strokes.

Expected Results:
The gradient in the background is rendered smoothly without white strokes.
(The pdf file is rendered correctly when displayed in Chrome)
