Description kurt.pfeifle 2016-03-17 10:25:50 UTC
I built Poppler from current Git sources. According to the NEWS file, the sources are after Release 0.42.0 (which seems to have happened yesterday).

Everything did build successfully -- but there is no `pdfsig` amongst the built binary utils.

According to the 0.42.0 release notes there should be a new `pdfsig` util.

Does your configure output show that poppler is building with NSS?

Indeed, the output says:

   use nss: no

I'm trying to build this on Debian 8.3 (Jessie). I have the libnss3 package installed already, but when running "apt-get install libnss3-dev" I encounter this message:

  | Package libnss3-dev is not available, but is referred to by another package.
  | This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted or
  | is only available from another source
  |
  | E: Package 'libnss3-dev' has no installation candidate

Is libnss3-dev required to build the `pdfsig` utility?

yes

I tried installing libnss3-dev on one of my jessie machines; it worked.

But I include jessie/updates (from security.debian.org) and jessie-backports.

You might need to add one of those to get a working libnss3-dev ???

Thanks, James.

Just an hour before your comment, I also added jessie-backports to my repo-list.

Same success as you: it now works for me.
