GPU crash dump

Running Ubuntu 16.04 beta 2 (kernel 4.4.0-16-generic) I experience frequent GPU hangs, this appears to happen when e.g. scrolling a Firefox or terminal window. Sometimes the system recovers and I can see the GPU hang message (attached), sometimes the system locks up completely and needs a hard reset.

please try the kernel from (install both packages)

http://koti.kapsi.fi/~tjaalton/skl/gt3/

it adds two patches from bugs 94161 and 93491
Comment 3 Mike Lewis 2016-04-03 19:33:28 UTC
After installing the patched kernel the problem seems to be fixed. I have tried vigorous scrolling in Firefox and terminal, and also tried running glmark2, with no hangs observed.

Hi,
I was the same issue with my Dell XPS 13" 9350.
After apply this new kernel the problem disappeared.

Thank you for this.
