Description mark 2016-06-06 14:43:21 UTC
When I move from the x11 window or I click the cursor within the window at a different place, the X11 window hesitates before activating again. This hesitation is only for
a second or less. For windows or apps spawned from within X11 the same thing occurs. For example, clicking around an NEDIT window cause a hesitation. Often I click to a new line and this hesitation will cause the first few characters not to be recorded.
I have tried a number of solutions to no avail. These include: closing all apps, rebooting the computer, cleaning all irrelevant files, turning off the wireless connection. This problem also occurred in the last release of X11. It may be related to the operating system, I am not an expert. I am running Yosemite on a Mac Book Pro

Please run:

    xinput test 'xquartz virtual pointer'

Is there a delay between your actual events and what gets printed?

Update, it does show a delay!!!
But only when I press the button on the mouse. So button press is recorded fine but there is a delay in button release
of a fraction of a second.

Now that I know it is something to do with mouse clicks I switched from a Logitech USB mouse to Apple bluetooth. Same result.

No,

But here is another example. If I grab the top bar with the mouse to move the window it moves a short distance and then lets go.
This only occurs with xwindow and xwindow spawned windows.

Likewise if try and highlight text in the nedit window it will only highlight for about 2 seconds and then lets go. i.e. I can only highlight a few lines.
