I am running on OSX El Capitan and while 2.7.9 runs fine, 2.7.10b2 does not. I understand that it is a beta, but I thought it may be helpful to know that xterm works upon opening in the default quartz-wm but none of the other applications I typically use (mostly IDL based) that need a hook into the X11 server fail. The problem is resolved upon falling back to 2.7.9 but the support for glibx is what had me looking to the beta in the first place.

If this is a common problem and some more information could be of use, I can do my best to find time to follow any directions you can provide.
