Description Ben Widawsky 2016-07-29 20:28:33 UTC
As the summary says. If I leave my Lenovo X1 Yoga to idle, at some point X will shut down the displays. There is no unplugging of the dock. From this point forward, I am unable to bring the monitor back without rebooting the system. All attempts to xrandr result in an error reported in dmesg:
[drm:intel_mst_disable_dp [i915]] *ERROR* failed to update payload -2

I've not seen any such problems when not using the dock.

I get one such error message on a normal boot, but things work fine after that.

Copy paste problem. It is error -22, not -2

-nightly kernel as of last night works.

Just kidding. It fails differently.

Updating to v2.30.000 (https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/acc100252) seems to have made this problem go away.
