Description Tomek Bury 2016-08-17 10:58:17 UTC
Currently Wayland is build around a silent assumption that buffers shared between client and compositor have implicit cross-process fencing mechanism built into them. It would be good to have an explicit mechanism in place, perhaps similar to one found in Android.

As far as I know, there's already some work done. I'm opening this bug to track the progress as per our discussion in bug 97353.

This is something I expect we'll discuss a lot more at XDC in Helsinki, at the end of September.

Hi Daniel,

I'm coming over as well. I hope we can meet in Helsinki and discus this.

Cheers,
Tomek
