I'm getting repeated SSL errors for two days now (Dec 21 and Dec 22) downloading the XQuartz 2.7.11 DMG installer (Mac/OS 10.11.4, Safari Version 9.1 (11601.5.17.1)).  This seems to be problem with the download mirror.

The download will partially complete and then fail due to an SSL error.  Have tried this with multiple clients (including wget).

I suggest you reach out to bintray if the problem persists.  It looks fine to me here:
