Performance drop

Performance drop beyond kernel 4.8 on games like alien isolation(heavy fps drop), pillars of eternity or tomb raider due to higher cpu usage. GPU AMD TONGA, latest mesa-git, xorg 1.19.1.

Can you attach your dmesg output?  Please make sure you you have the latest firmware.  Might be the same issue as:
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=192921
