This bug is a placeholder for all bug fixes that need to be documented for the next release. When a bug fix is applied that should be documented in the release notes, please move it from blocking the release bug to blocking this documentation bug.
This seems the kind of thing where a non-coder can help. What's exactly needed?

soeren, i've got a list of known dlloader issues at http://freedesktop.org/~ajax/dlloader-status.txt
Created attachment 669 [details] xorg release notes
Ok, I've recollected everything I've found in that attached file (i hope I've not forgotten anything) and put it into a short of web page. Is this the direction desired for the release notes?
Created attachment 670 [details] xorg release notes Ok, that was a b0rked one. Try this one instead
Perhaps right now we should use the Wiki to prepare the release notes, where everyone can edit them? Also the "Caveats" section of http://www.freedesktop.org/XOrg/X11R68ScreenShots has some useful commentary.
(In reply to comment #5) > Created an attachment (id=666) [edit] > features + credit list > > Here is a list of features and people who should be credited. > FYI...my name is spelled wrong. It's Alex Deucher, not Alan.
Something to add to the notes: The gamma drm is deprecated and will be removed for the next release.
I have updated http://freedesktop.org/XOrg/XorgReleasePlan with a the list of people and the new features. It's probably a good idea to use the Wiki for the release notes. Alex, sorry about the wrong name. It should be correct on the web page
Changes to the release notes should be checked into the files directly as discussed on the Friday, 8/27/2004 call. This will ease the process of getting them ready as we don't expect that they will be wrewritten from scratch.
Whoops! almost forgot: - New driver: Voodoo (Alan Cox) Provides native (glide-less) acceleration and mode setup for voodoo/voodoo2 boards
Not sure where you want to put this in the RELNOTES as you don't have an OS Support Updates section yet, but here are the details for Mac OS X: o Support dynamic screen configuration changes in rootless mode. o Added option to always use Mac command key equivalents. o Interpret scroll wheel mouse events correctly when shift is held down. o Added trivial Xinput support. o Fixed launch of X clients from Finder with a space in their path. o Fixed some GLX rendering problems on Mac OS X 10.2 and earlier.
I have updated the release notes for the items mentioned here (and that should be in the release notes). As discussed on the release call this morning (03 September 2004), the tree is now frozen and will be tagged for release shortly.
should this be closed now that 6.8.0 is out?
The remaining bugs that were blocking this one have been moved over to block the next release. Closing.
