As discussed in https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93304, there is no support for automatically updating guest resolution to match the client window. The user manual states that this functionality exists, under the name "Arbitrary Resolution". Having come from VirtualBox, I expected this functionality, and spent a lot of time trying to figure it out before finding the linked bug. Please consider updating the user manual to 1) Indicate that this feature does not work in modern versions of Windows, or perhaps at all, and 2) Please consider renaming the feature to something a little more meaningful. I'd suggest "automatically resize virtual guest display".
Update: at least partially my bad, it does work in Windows 10, but the documentation could be improved to prevent problems like mine. 1) Please add the documentation point: In virt-manager's builtin viewer, the feature can be activated by selecting View->Scale Display->Auto-resize VM with Window. 2) Please rename the feature away from "Arbitrary Resolution", which is really a feature of the display driver and does not adequately describe the desired userland functionality.
