Description Adam Jackson 2004-11-22 13:18:02 UTC
Matrox has a new revision of the mga(4) driver - based on the open mga driver -
available on their website. Though their release notes claim the driver is
licensed under open terms, the clickthrough license places the driver under
_very_ restrictive terms, to the point where I won't even look at the code for
fear of license contamination.

The driver, and questionable license, are available from
http://www.matrox.com/mga/support/drivers/files/lnx_40.cfm

I emailed legal@matrox about a week ago regarding this. I have not yet received
a response.

There are no conditions right now :)
Comment 2 Adam Jackson 2005-07-16 07:38:06 UTC
the license on their mga driver hasn't changed, though the version number has.

Sorry about the phenomenal bug spam, guys. Adding xorg-team@ to the QA contact so bugs don't get lost in future.
Comment 5 Jesse Adkins 2010-11-02 20:13:18 UTC
It's been 6 years without a Matrox response, and there's still a very restricted license on the site. Anyone else want to just give up on this bug?
Comment 6 Jesse Adkins 2010-11-15 23:32:21 UTC
In 8 days it will be a full 6 years since this was opened. I don't think Matrox wants to help. Closing this.
