Matrox has a new revision of the mga(4) driver - based on the open mga driver - available on their website. Though their release notes claim the driver is licensed under open terms, the clickthrough license places the driver under _very_ restrictive terms, to the point where I won't even look at the code for fear of license contamination. The driver, and questionable license, are available from http://www.matrox.com/mga/support/drivers/files/lnx_40.cfm I emailed legal@matrox about a week ago regarding this. I have not yet received a response.
There are no conditions right now :)
the license on their mga driver hasn't changed, though the version number has.

Sorry about the phenomenal bug spam, guys. Adding xorg-team@ to the QA contact so bugs don't get lost in future.
It's been 6 years without a Matrox response, and there's still a very restricted license on the site. Anyone else want to just give up on this bug?
In 8 days it will be a full 6 years since this was opened. I don't think Matrox wants to help. Closing this.
