I don't know what those kernels are; what patches do you have on top of upstream? Can you reproduce with vanilla upstream? Hi Jani, you are right I repeated with vanilla and the same story... the diff between default and vanilla is as follow. [20:48:23 root@baphomet:/boot]: diff /boot/config-4.4.0-3.g75554c0-default /boot/config-4.4.0-3.g75554c0-vanilla 3c3 < # Linux/x86_64 4.4.0 Kernel Configuration --- > # Linux/x86 4.4.0 Kernel Configuration 44,46d43 < CONFIG_SUSE_KERNEL=y < # CONFIG_SUSE_KERNEL_SUPPORTED is not set < CONFIG_SPLIT_PACKAGE=y 57c54 < CONFIG_LOCALVERSION="-3.g75554c0-default" --- > CONFIG_LOCALVERSION="-3.g75554c0-vanilla" 395a393 > CONFIG_SCHED_OMIT_FRAME_POINTER=y 950d947 < CONFIG_NF_CONNTRACK_SLP=m 3618d3614 < CONFIG_CRASHER=m 5504d5499 < # CONFIG_USB_EHCI_HCD_SYNOPSYS is not set 7038,7039d7032 < CONFIG_UNWIND_INFO=y < CONFIG_STACK_UNWIND=y I have built the head from Linus git and booted... Alin (In reply to Alin M Elena from comment #2) > I have built the head from Linus git and booted... Please tell me the git commit ID of the kernel you've tried from Linus' tree. Please add drm.debug=14 module parameter, and attach dmesg. If possible, please do so when you're experiencing a black screen (either ssh into the box or ensure you get the logs on disk). this is the one I tried and booted. 5807fca with the logs may be tricky to get since when I get a black screen there is none.. and I have no network card on that machine. Alin when 4.4.0 boots I keep getting this... I suspect totally unrelated... Does your distro save the logs from previous boots? A have a similar yet different problem, see bug 93950. The laptop boots up just fine, but the screen dies if I restart the Xorg server. Created attachment 121486 [details] attachment-19919-0.html with 4.5rc1 things seem to work.. . Thanks, I think we'll settle with that. Closing. |
