Description Brian 2004-09-19 15:48:57 UTC
Is there a problem with XVideo output with 6.7.0?

I am running Slackware 10.0 with an onboard S3 Inc. VT8375 ProSavage8.

Slackware 10.0 (fresh install)
xorg 'savage' driver
default color depth 24
default res 1280 x 1024

mplayer -vo xv Hellboy.avi <enter>

Everything APPEARS to work except the screen is a static blur of banded
colors.

-vo x11 works but non-expandable window.

xorg log file shows "Loading extension XVideo"

xvinfo reports support for both (YUY2) and (YV12).

What can I do to get this functioning?

Thanks for any help.

Best regards,

Brian

try with xorg cvs. This should be fixed now.

I had those problems with 6.7 too. Now, with 6.8.1, they all appear to have
vanished. I think this bug is fixed.

Note that Xv still doesn't work after a suspend-to-ram -- I just get a black
rectangle. The only way to fix it that I've found is to restart the X server
(reboot not needed).
