Description Matthias B. 2008-02-29 12:53:42 UTC
Steps to reproduce:

1. Select some text with the mouse button so that it lands on the middle-click clipboard

2. Position the cursor over an xterm and make it the active window (depending on your window manager you may have to left-click it)

3. Use Ctrl-Alt-F1 to switch to the Linux console

4. Use Alt-Fx to switch back to X

Result: The selected text is pasted into xterm as if you had middle-clicked it.

When I position the mouse over xev and do the console switch, I'm seeing fake ButtonRelease events for all of my mouse buttons. This may be responsible for the issue, so maybe this is not an xterm bug.
