Description kincaid.dave 2010-06-14 10:54:46 UTC
Running a Dell e6510 laptop with Intel graphics chipset. On boot up I get a blank screen on the laptop unless I have "nomodeset" in the kernel boot parameters. In this configuration I am only able to use the vesa driver in X.

When booting with an external monitor connected to a docking station I get the video on the external monitor without nomodeset (with KMS enabled). However, once X starts up using the intel driver the screen is twice the width it should be and I can only see the right half.
