You need to upgrade your kernel to 2.6.36. Previous kernels did not support the encoder used for the HDMI on your laptop. For reference, the patch required is here: http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git;a=commitdiff;h=351a52a2414d2b104269755c86b476863c248034
