Created attachment 41145 [details] Example of cropped formula Steps to reproduce the problem: 1- On Math, go to Format -> Spacing, under "category" select Borders and set left and right borders to zero (this is needed for proper text flow when you insert Math objects in-line) 2- type an "f" and exit Math Actual result The f get cropped See attachment for an example.
With default top and bottom spacing to 0mm, the "widehat" gets truncated out of some formulas. see FormulaWidehatProblem.odt

Hello, LibO 3.4.2 on WinXP I do NOT reproduce problem with "widehat" document: edit formula and hat appears. I do NOT reproduce problem with "Example of cropped formula": edit formula and f is completely visible. Is it Linux specific?

Interesting! I just tried with both, 3.3.3 and 3.4.2: the first one shows the problem but the latest no! Now it's working! It seems that 3.4.x series solved the problem. If someone else confirm that now it is working on the other platforms, then I think we can close this one!
[This is an automated message.] This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases. Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugHunting_Session_3.5.0.-1 more detail on this bulk operation: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/RFC-Operation-Spamzilla-tp3607474p3607474.html
The problem is NOT present on 3.5 beta2.
This bug seems to have come back from the dead. I display the widehat example in 3.5.4.2 of ubuntu 12.04 and the widehat in the second equation is gone. I'm doing similar equations in a document with parentheses and the widehat is cut off except for the edges.
