Description Jason 2005-11-16 07:52:28 UTC
Please add 800x512 resolution to the vesa driver. 800x512 is the native
resolution for the SGI 1600sw LCD monitor. The other native resolution is
1600x1024 which is already supported by the vesa driver. Right now I have to
use the 80x25 vga console driver during boot. This means there is alot of real
estate that is not being used. I would love to be able to use the full size
screeen during boot.

might not actually be possible...

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 5007 ***
Comment 2 Jason 2006-03-12 12:47:17 UTC
Since https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5007 has been closed as a
wontfix I think I should reopen this bug. You already have support for
1600x1024 by passing vga=792 to the kernel. I am only asking that 800x512 also
be added.
Thanks,

Modes exist in your BIOS or they don't exist in your BIOS. You have to change
the BIOS itself to add modes. When did you last compile a VGA BIOS?

And this is X. Not FB. When did you last use X "during" boot?
Comment 4 Jason 2006-03-14 06:44:05 UTC
The mode lines are in the bios. 800x512 and 1600x1024 are the NATIVE resolution
for this monitor. Since this is not the correct place to report this request
for add 800x512 support, would you be so king to tell where I can make this request?
