Description Christian Kirbach 2005-11-17 08:08:40 UTC
I've come across several pdf documents where the text is rendered incorrectly,
but the layout seems to be fine, i.e. the characters look garbled

Find attached an example

evince 0.4cvs
poppler 0.5cvs

I'm assuming this is the same problem as described in bug #5117. If not, please
reopend and provide a screenshot illustrating the corruption.

Bug is still there; Reopening and attaching a screenshot illustrating the
problem.

Additionally, evince crashes at FT_Done_Face (face=0x190) at ftobjs.c:1820 after
closing. Do not know if this is a hint, and I have not found the C file in my
entire cvs directories. I'll not look into this until the garbled text is gone
:)

Oops, closed this bug as a duplicate as the wrong bug. This is probably a
duplicate of one of 3975, 4764, or 5149. Could you see if you can reproduce
your problem with some of the PDFs in those bugs?

Also, there's a different fix in CVS head for this problem, could you give that
a try? What version of freetype are you using and which distro?
Comment 6 Christian Kirbach 2005-12-10 08:34:54 UTC
freetype 2.1.7 on Debian testing

yes, this is a duplicate of Bug 3975 which in turn is a dup itself.
