Xorg -version

Having used a dual screen xorg.conf X refuses to start with it, newly. Elder versions did do well with that xorg.conf.

This is user error, not a bug.

The xorg.conf has commented out your default module path and put in a
custom path:

# ModulePath "/usr/lib64/xorg/modules-anc"
  ModulePath "/usr/lib64/xorg/modules-oss/updates,/usr/lib64/xorg/modules-oss"

Xorg.0.log shows it tries to find the required modules to load in that
path and cannot:

[ 283.305] (**) ModulePath set to "/usr/lib64/xorg/modules-oss/updates,/usr/lib64/xorg/modules-oss"
[ 283.307] (EE) Failed to load module "radeon" (module does not exist, 0)

(lots of other errors in the Xorg.0.log about old stuff we ignore, and
 invalid font paths too)

Many Thanks. That works now.
However the X server blackscreens at a hang as soon as I correct the ModulePath; looking at the xorg.0.log everything looks like at Bug 32969.
