lspci output AMD A8-3520M

I am running Ubuntu 12.10 on a Dell Vostro 3555 laptop with a backlit LCD display. lspci reports the graphic controller as:

VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI BeaverCreek [Mobility Radeon HD 6620G]

/proc/cpuinfo reports:
AMD A8-3520M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics

The Ubuntu driver code utility does not report the software level of the Xorg driver. The Linux kernel is 3.5.0-25.

When the system resumes, usually because of opening the lid of the laptop, but also if I manually suspend and resume without closing the lid, the backlight is not turned on.

I do not have the expertise to know whether this is related to bug 43829.
