Comment 2 Chris Wilson 2013-07-29 07:42:54 UTC
X is happy. Check .xsession-errors for the application (probably gnome-shell) that is failing.

But X can't start up.No matter only try to start X or start X and gnome-session.
I can't find the .xsession-errors at /root/
BTW, we use the fedora 19.

X does start and shuts down because the last client quits. There's no segfault logged in dmesg, nor any abnormal behaviour, so look for client logs (like /var/log/gdm/) and see if they explain what is going on.
Comment 5 Guang Yang 2013-07-29 10:33:36 UTC
This issue occurs at VGA port of our sample, the DP and HDMI can't work seems due to the HW's error, and the eDP can't work after upgrading our BIOS to BBAYCRB1.X64.0047.R21.1306111752 (BBAY_X64_R_v47_21)
I talk to Eva who filed the bug#67162, their bug occurs with eDP port.

I only find the folder of /var/log/gdm/ is empty. I 'm still confused to find out the clues.

What happens if you start X manually?

I have changed some environments of my system and install many librarys, now the issue is gone. Thx, Chris. I think we can close this bug. If any regression, I will reopen it.
