I have another issue: If I add 1024x768 resolution by xrandr as below steps: xrandr --newmode "1024x768_60.00" 64.11 1024 1080 1184 1344 768 769 772 795 -HSync +Vsync xrandr --addmode DP1 1024x768_60.00 xrandr --output DP1 --mode 1024x768_60.00 I got black screen. but system is still alive. Machine: Dell E6410 CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU M 520 @ 2.40GHz OS: Ubuntu 10.04

Let's track the first issue here. It seems the second issue has been tracked at bug#28579. I fail to access http://www.mail-archive.com/intel-gfx@lists.freedesktop.org/msg00381.html. Can you give another url or paste the content here?
